Dog protects lost toddler on epic journey through Aussie bush
Add to the list of amazing dogs, Dasher, this German shepherd who watched over 2-year-old Dante Berry while the two were lost in the Australian scrub overnight while thunder storms raged. More than 100 locals scoured the area, turning up nothing except side-by-side toddler and doggie footprints, proving that the loyal pooch stuck beside his buddy. It was Dante’s penchant for tearing off diapers that led cops to the adventurous duo nearly two miles from home; finding a paw print-covered diaper on the path, they ventured into the woods where an excited Dasher greeted them and brought them straight to the dirty, thirsty and nearly naked tyke.
